Behind the Scenes: The Making of Buckler Gloves

Ever made a baseball glove from scratch? Don't worry -- before Buckler, we hadn't either. And as much as we love talking about our finished products and how well they perform on your hand and on the field, it's actually pretty cool to see the stages of a glove's production. So, we thought we'd take some time this week to share a few behind-the-scenes action shots with you.

Let's start with the pattern. See a ball glove yet? Yeah...neither do we.

Maybe this will help: the pattern becomes leather. It's still hard to picture this beauty snagging a line drive, but we're getting there.

Next, let's give this thing some shape so that it can actually catch. (Ever try to catch a ball with a frying pan?)

Oh, and we can't forget our name. That much we remember from school.

Okay, time to start putting the pieces together:

We don't want to bore you with the rest of the details, so let's skip ahead to the breaking-in we start for you (before you take over, of course). While it looks pretty powerful, we don't recommend taking BP with that mallet.

And we can't forget the batting gloves! Lots of careful sewing goes into these babies so they're ready to power all of your extra-base knocks.

See, when it comes to our glove-making, it's actually pretty simple: The secret ingredient -- you guessed it -- is passion. We obsess over details, and we don't stop until we get it right.

You love the game, and you deserve to play with a glove you're just as crazy about, at a price that actually makes sense. Find yours here before our holiday sale ends on 12/30/16 and our ridiculous discount disappears like a 101-mph fastball.

Not ready for new leather yet? No worries. Let's start slow, with a message. Tell us your hopes and dreams for a glove -- we're all ears!
